Installing the sensors

Before starting the installation, we recommend you to watch the installation video for the predictive maintenance meters. You can find the video here.

The preferred location for a sensor is typically on the drive end of the motor. However, this may vary if a specific area of the asset is prone to frequent faults. If our sensor cannot be installed on the specific location, our onboarding representatives will advise on an alternative location. For machines over 75 kW, two sensors are usually installed. Ideally a sensor is then placed on the drive end and another on the non-drive end of the motor.

During installation one of the axes of the sensor monitors has to be aligned with the shaft of the machine. An example of this can be found below.

Validate installation

Once all the bridges and sensors are installed in the correct locations and powered up, you can easily verify their functionality by logging into our Sensorfact software environment. After logging in, navigate to the maintenance tab at the top of your screen. Here, you will find an overview of all your sensors and can check their current status. The image below provides an example of the overview page:

To complete the installation process, it is crucial to confirm that the sensor is online, shows a blue, green, or yellow connection indication on the sensor, and is transmitting data. You can verify this by checking the "last measurement" date and time. To confirm a good connection, check if an updated measurement has been conducted within the past nine minutes.

Alternatively, you can select a machine and zoom in on the data to view the data points to confirm the last measurement time.
