To configure your bridges, you only need a USB flash drive (FAT32 formatted), preferably blank next to your computer/laptop and bridges. Make sure the bridge is plugged into power. The configuration of the bridges consists of three steps;
Upload network credentials to USB flash drive
- Create a new .txt file with notepad, named 'wifi.txt'.
- Add the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password in this file
- Separate SSID and password by a semicolon (“;”) (Example network name;password)
- Save file on USB flash drive
- Insert the USB flash drive into the bridge
- Wait for >5 minutes
- Remove the USB flash drive from the bridge
- Check files on the USB flash drive on a computer
If the configuration went well, you will see a new file named 'mac-addresses-XXXX.txt'. The XXXX are the 4 characters of the bridge ID and thus vary from bridge to bridge. A logfile should look like this:
If you would like to configure the bridges without a password. You wifi.txt file should say: YOURSSID;;key_mgmt=NONE
- Check if the bridge can connect to the Sensorfact Platform.
Repeat step 2 for all other bridges. For more information, you can watch the configuration video.
