The Sensorfact Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) sensor is designed to help you manage and maximize your production throughput. By providing real-time feedback on performance, assessing downtime, and understanding the reasons behind it, the system empowers you to optimize production efficiency on the workfloor.
Pulse counter
The Pulse Counter, in conjunction with Sensorfact software, is a key component in monitoring production data. It operates by registering a pulse output for every piece produced, which is essential for accurate production tracking. This pulse data can be collected from various sources, including:
- Machine Relay Output
- Existing Machine Sensors
- Sensorfact Photoelectric Sensors
Once a pulse is registered (or if no pulse is detected within an hour), the pulse counter sends a wireless message to the bridge. This data is then processed and displayed in the Sensorfact software, providing actionable insights into your production efficiency.
Check the technical data sheet of the Pulse counter part of the OEE sensor here.
Sensor from a machine relay
In this setup, the Pulse Counter reads an open/close (O/C) signal from an available relay in the machine's Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The power required for the Pulse Counter is supplied by a 12VDC wall outlet provided by Sensorfact.
Sensor from an existing machine sensor
For machines that already have sensors feeding data into the PLC, a splitter can be used to share this data with the Sensorfact pulse counter. This allows the pulse counter to monitor production without disrupting the existing data stream to the PLC.
The pulse counter in this setup is powered by the same 12-24VDC supply provided to the existing sensor. If your sensor operates outside this range or if you have concerns about sensor compatibility, reach out to your onboarding representative.
From a Sensorfact photoelectric sensor
Sensorfact also provides a dedicated photoelectric sensor that can be positioned next to a conveyor belt to detect products as they pass by. This sensor connects dire
ctly to the pulse counter and is ideal for setups
where other sensor options may not be
feasible.

Special Considerations: Certain product types—such as transparent (e.g., plastic) or very thin products, or those in extreme temperature environments—may require specialized sensors or setups. If you encounter these situations, please consult your onboarding representative to explore alternative solutions.
