Installing the Insertion sensors

The Insertion sensor can be inserted into the pipe by drilling a hole into it with the help of a drilling saddle or into an existing ball valve. The insertion sensor can be installed in pipes with a diameter larger than 48,3mm(DN40 or 1½ BSP). This installation can also be performed under pressure by a licensed installer.

The exact installation instructions can be found in the PDF

To make sure the measurements of the sensor are correct the airflow should be laminar and have no fluctuations. To find a suitable location for the insertion sensor the customer needs a straight piece of pipe that is not interfered with by corners, T-junctions, or other feed-in situations. As a rule of thumb, a piece 25 times the pipe’s diameter is necessary to make sure there is a suitable location for the insertion sensor. (example: 60mm pipe needs a 1500mm (1,5m) piece of pipe). An overview of different situations can be found in the table below.
